Archive photographs, some of them taken in Canton (Guangzhou), show these trays being used in the first stages of tea preparation, with the leaves spread out to lose part of their moisture before processing.\u003cbr\u003eEntirely handmade, this tray features a fine, tight weave, offering a stable surface while allowing good air circulation. Its reinforced rim provides rigidity and makes it easy to handle during the various stages of tea processing.\u003cbr\u003eThis type of tray was widespread in the farming and trading regions linked to tea production.
