One-of-a-kind piece
Wooden mask from the Himalayas.
These masks from the Himalayas (probably from north-eastern Nepal) are among the symbols that best represent the culture and traditions of the people of the Himalayan region. The tradition of wearing these masks is very old, and has its roots in the animist tribes of the region, who worshipped the spirits of nature and the guardians of their mountains. The shamans of these tribes wore these masks during the rites they performed to protect their villages, heal illnesses, carry out exorcisms, and so on.
These masks were given very important social functions in the life of these communities, as they could also be used during theatrical performances and ceremonies dedicated to their ancestors. The Hindu and Buddhist cultures, which became predominant in the surrounding regions, gradually replaced the myths of these shamanic cults. However, some spirits and demons of these tribes were adopted by the Buddhist tradition, and a few of them even became wrathful but protective deities in Buddhist doctrine.

More about how your order is prepared
Careful, reused packaging
Your parcel is prepared in our warehouse in France. As most of our pieces are one of a kind, the packaging has to be made to measure, which takes a little longer than for standard products. The item is protected and packed in a cardboard box for the safest possible shipping.
The little extra? We reuse packaging as much as possible to reduce our impact on the planet.
collection by the carrier
Once your order has been prepared, the carrier chosen at checkout is notified and your parcel is collected the next working day.
The carriers we use most often are Chronopost, Colissimo or UPS for home deliveries. For pickup point deliveries, we offer the Mondial Relay and Chrono Shop2Shop networks.
notification from the carrier
You will then receive an e-mail from us with delivery tracking, in the form of a link to the carrier's tracking page.
