Mid-Century design armchair, teak wood and cannia.
We no longer present the famous Chandigarh chair, imagined by Pierre Jeanneret in the 1950s to equip the new buildings in the capital of Punjab.
In the eyes of the Indians, it is the chair certainly emblematic but all all basic of their administrations; For the others, it has become a highly sought -after design room. The materials used are those available locally: Teck, Cannage.
The original pieces were massively exported by foreign art merchants at the beginning of the 21st century. They are found all over the world, so that they are now rare in India.
We offer you here an armchair inspired by the original, but still in teak and braided cannage by hand (diamond weaving), and always made in India. The caning on the seat is established, and that of the file is glued. The wood is massive, so that the armchair is quite heavy, but very comfortable.
