Wool carpet knotted by hand, in India in the vicinity of Varanasi, a high place in the carpet industry, whose birth dates back to the 16th century. Historians believe that weavers from Iran settled there at that time and then established their workshops there.
These hand knotted carpets are traditionally considered to be the highest quality of all other types of carpets. They are very robust, much more than the tuffed carpets that we often find in our usual stores. The tied carpets do not have latex on the back, unlike the tuffed carpets. Our carpets require a long manufacturing time, which is proportional to the number of nodes with a square centimeter. They have a good longevity, and if they are well maintained, they can even be transmitted to the following generations.
The wool used is of superior quality (New Zealand wool).
