THE damchiya was the traditional chest containing the dowry that the Indian bride took with her to settle in with her husband. It was made at the request of the bride's family, in preparation for the wedding. Each piece is therefore unique!
This damchiya features two imposing rounded feet, decorated with scrolls. It is decorated with two horses sculpted at the top and two flower buds at the bottom. Its beautiful old patina will go perfectly in a wabi-sabi interior. You can find more information about damchiya at our blog.
This is a vintage, second-hand piece, traces of use are present, which contributes to its unique character and charm.
